As our pets grow older, or face a serious illness, the world can start to feel a little smaller and scarier for them. A trip to the vet clinic, with its unfamiliar smells, other animals and long waits in the car, can be geniunely stressful for a senior cat or dog – especially when they’re not feeling their best.
Dr Lloyd’s Mobile Vet Care bring gentle, thorough veterinary care straight to your home, so your pet can be assessed, treated and comforted in the place they feel safest, curled up on their favourite bed and with you right beside them.

Signs your senior pet may benefit from veterinary care

Geriatric Health Checks
Our senior pet consultations are relaxed, thorough and tailored to your pet’s individual needs. We typically include a full nose-to-tail physical examination, assessment of mobility joint health and comfort and discussions with you about any changes you’ve noticed.
We may suggest bloodwork or other diagnostics, and work with you to create a clear, honest picture of where your pet’s health is at and what to expect going forward.
We’ll create a tailored care plan for pain management, diet changes, or medication as required.

Palliative & End-of-life Vet Care
When a pet is diagnosed with a serious or terminal illness, the goal shifts. It’s no longer about curing, but about comfort, dignity, and making the most of the time you have left together.
There’s no set formula for this stage. Some pets are with us for a matter of weeks, others for many comfortable months. We walk alongside you for however long that journey is, adjusting the plan as things change. Palliative Care focusses on:
- Pain & Symptom management - keeping your pet as comfortable as possible, using medication, therapies and adjustments tailored to their condition.
- Quality of life monitoring - regular, honest check-ins to track how your pet is really doing, not just clinically, but in the small every day moments that matter.

Guidance and support for you - this is an emotional time and we are here to answer questions, talk through what to expect and help you feel supported rather than alone in the decision-making.
- Compassionate In-home Euthanasia - When the time comes, we offer peaceful euthanasia at home, where your pet's final moments can be spent somewhere familiar, surrounded by the people and smells they love.
