Dr Lloyd's Mobile Vet Care

A personalised approach to in-home veterinary care

At Dr Lloyd’s Mobile VetCare, we believe exceptional veterinary care begins with compassion, trust, and treating every pet as if they were our own. We are a family-owned and run mobile veterinary business founded by Dr Adele Lloyd and supported by her husband, Matthew, together with our valued veterinarians, Dr Lauren Poulsom and Dr Felicity West. As a dedicated team, we combine professional veterinary expertise with a genuine commitment to making every visit as comfortable, personal and stress-free as possible for both pets and their families.

Providing veterinary care in your pet’s familiar home environment allows us to deliver a calmer, more personalised experience while building lasting relationships with both pets and their families. From routine health care and preventative medicine to palliative care, home euthanasia and aftercare wishes, we are dedicated to delivering thoughtful, respectful, and high-quality care tailored to each animal’s individual needs.

We deeply understand the special bond people share with their pets, and we consider it a privilege to support families through every stage of their pet’s life with kindness, empathy, and professional expertise.

Dr Adele Lloyd (co-owner)

BEng BVSC

Dr Adele Lloyd became a veterinarian because she believed it was the best way to make a meaningful difference to the lives and welfare of animals. Throughout her career, she has worked in private practice, as a shelter veterinarian, and volunteered internationally, providing veterinary care to animal shelters in Uganda and Fiji, while also contributing to a lion conservation program in Zimbabwe. These experiences have further strengthened her lifelong commitment to animal welfare and conservation.

Having cared for thousands of pets over the years, Dr Adele understands that many animals experience mild to severe anxiety when visiting a veterinary clinic. With additional training in animal behaviour, she believes that, whenever a hospital visit or admission isn't necessary, providing veterinary care in the comfort of a pet's own home offers a calmer, less stressful experience for both pets and their human families. Her gentle, compassionate approach is at the heart of every consultation, ensuring each visit is as relaxed, personalised and stress-free as possible.

Dr Adele brings a wealth of experience across a broad range of veterinary disciplines, together with a genuine passion for animal welfare. She has particular interests and further education in behaviour, emergency, and wildlife medicine. Her commitment to animal welfare extends well beyond clinical practice through her ongoing volunteer work with wildlife, and rescue/pound animals. Dr Adele is also a founding member of Sentient – The Veterinary Institute for Animal Ethics, and serves as Vice-President of the Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association, reflecting her lifelong dedication to improving the welfare of animals both within and beyond the veterinary profession.

Dr Lauren Poulsom

Dr Lauren has a special interest in feline medicine, which inspired her to undertake further studies and, in 2019, achieve Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) in Feline Medicine. She is also passionate about dentistry, preventative healthcare and geriatric medicine, with a strong focus on helping pets enjoy the healthiest and happiest life possible.

Lauren has completed additional studies in canine and feline behaviour, giving her a deeper understanding of the unique personalities of pets and helping families address behavioural concerns with practical, compassionate guidance.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys discovering great restaurants, curling up with a good book, and spending time with her husband and their much-loved furry family. Their household includes Ernie, a 12-year-old ginger tabby; Maggie, a playful 10-year-old Burmese who still thinks she's a kitten; and two Golden Retrievers, Jack (5) and Sylvia (3).

Matthew Lloyd (co-owner)

Business operations/administration

As co-owner of Dr Lloyd's Mobile VetCARE, Matthew manages the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring every family receives the highest level of support from their first enquiry through to follow-up care. He personally coordinates the home euthanasia process, guiding families through consent, aftercare options and cremation arrangements with compassion, sensitivity and respect, allowing them to focus entirely on their beloved pet during an incredibly difficult time.

Matthew also plays a key role in the practice's wildlife and tranquillisation services. While both Dr Adele and Matthew are licensed and experienced in remote chemical immobilisation (darting), Matthew undertakes the majority of darting procedures involving wildlife, as well as anxious, aggressive and dangerous dogs requiring veterinary assessment or treatment.

A passionate advocate for animal welfare and conservation, Matthew is President of the Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association and has volunteered internationally at animal shelters in Uganda and Fiji, as well as participating in a lion conservation program in Zimbabwe. His commitment to animals, together with his calm, compassionate approach to supporting families, is central to the values and care provided by Dr Lloyd's Mobile VetCARE.

Dr Felicity West

Dr Felicity West is a highly compassionate veterinarian who is honoured to provide peaceful, in-home euthanasia services for Dr Lloyd's Mobile VetCARE. She understands how difficult it is to say goodbye to a beloved pet and is dedicated to helping families through this final act of love with dignity, compassion and respect in the comfort of their own home. Through years of caring for companion animals, Dr Felicity has developed a deep appreciation of the unique bond between pets and their families, ensuring every farewell is guided by empathy, kindness and genuine understanding.
